New York sportsbooks will launch online sports betting on January 8, 2022, with the approval of the state’s gaming commission. Caesars, DraftKings, FanDuel and Rush Street Interactive are the four platform providers. The New York State Gaming Commission says there’s no talk of legalizing wagering on college sports yet, but Sen. Joseph Addabbo Jr. says he’d be open to allowing wagering on early NFL playoff games.
New York sportsbooks enjoyed an incredible start in 2021, generating a combined $3.57 million in gross revenue by the end of January. In November, the New York Governor proclaimed support for online sports betting, although he also endorsed the single-source model, run by the state lottery. The single-source model has been criticized in Washington D.C., as it leads to higher prices for consumers. In January, a vote on legalizing online sports betting in the state was expected to take place, and the market is expected to be highly competitive.
With sports betting regulated in the US, sportsbooks are working hard to gain market share and attract new customers. While there are many bonuses available, it’s important to note that they’re not all created equal. Deposit bonuses are a great way to build a bankroll, but make sure you read the terms and conditions before taking advantage of them. This will save you money and frustration in the long run. So, while there’s a growing number of sportsbooks, don’t be afraid to try out a few of them.
