When it comes to the world of lottery games, singapore lottery is one of the most popular. With jackpots often exceeding a million dollars, it’s no surprise that people love to play this form of gambling. But before you decide to participate in a lottery, it’s important to know a few things about the game.
Singapore’s most popular lottery is Toto, first launched in 1968 and stylised as TOTO. This state-owned company is the only legal operator of lotteries in Singapore. It is a subsidiary of Tote Board, a statutory body under the Ministry of Finance. Its responsibilities include operating the national lotteries, and totalising association football and motor racing betting in Singapore.
Toto draws are held every Monday and Thursday at 6:30 pm (Singapore time). The jackpot prize amount starts at a minimum of $1 million. In the event that no winner is found, the prize money will snowball to the next highest prize group. The first winning ticket to match the six Toto numbers is awarded 38% of the total prize pool.
Toto winners can claim their prizes at the Singapore Pools Main Branch located at 210 Middle Road, from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). Winners must show their ID cards or passports to prove their identity before they can be given their winnings. Unclaimed winnings will be forfeited and channelled into donations and charitable grants managed by Tote Board after 180 days from the date of the draw.
